Figured this out via an email forward and requested to forward to all Malaysians like you and me. I figured the most efficient way is to publish it as an open letter to our Prime Minister PakLah, maybe also the Chairman of the "Independent" Election:

And to all beloved Malaysians,

March 11 -08

Dear Prime Minister,

First of all, I would like to welcome you in to the new era of Malaysians politics. The old money, racial and UMNO Putera politics is no more valid in this country where people choose freedom of rights and a democratic process. Many reasons have caused the big waves of change in your government. Some of the points are as below. I hope this will help you to restructure your government.

1. The peaceful assemblies being disrupted by the police for your own political gain.
2. The use of ISA on innocent Malaysians.
3. The on going corruption.
4. The failure of the judiciary system.
5. The involvement of government officials in the murder of Altantunya.
6. The federal constitution law is violated especially in the freedom of religion under article 11, example in the case of Subashini, Lina Joy, Holy Scriptures and Bibles banned from entering the country, the movie Passion of Christ being banned in Malaysia and the demolishment of holy temples.
7. The one sight media coverage.
8. Discrimination against the Indians.
9. Most of the government project are given to the UMNO Putera`s and fly.
10. The indecent and racial remarks made by your Ministers.
11. The keris issue by Hishamudin
12. No transparency in the accounts administration.
13. And of course much of the noise made by the empty vessel, Khairy.

well please spread the word please we need your help!

Well that was the tagline DAP wanted to use in the next one in which hopefully Anwar will become PM..

The DAP wants Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the future prime minister, party secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said.
Lim, who is also Penang chief minister, said the DAP was backing Anwar because "he is widely accepted by everyone in the opposition".

"We hope he is allowed to take his rightful place in parliament the soonest possible," he said.

Speaking at the one-day DAP national leadership convention here, Lim urged party leaders and members not to rest on their laurels, but to start working immediately to fulfil the people's needs.

He said the DAP would continue to work with Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and other non-governmental organisations.
The DAP, Lim added, would double its membership by recruiting 100,000 new members before the next general election.

He also warned party members not to be complacent.

"Just as Malaysians voted for the DAP in this election, they can just as easily vote the party out, should we fail to deliver."

He reminded members how the DAP had won a record number of state seats in Penang in 1990. But in 1995, the party suffered one of its worst electoral defeats

but they have ran into trouble most recently about the NEP policy backfire in which misappropriations were given about demolishing "it" or the corruption that beholds it from past year's government

"Don't be a spoilt child and do everything you want! Do not act according to your emotions.Be adult like and don't follow your father's comment and response to him "

That was the advice given by Datuk Mohd Johari Baharom to newly-elected Jerlun MP Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir for calling on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to step down.

Johari, who is also the Kubang Pasu Umno division chief, regretted Mukhriz's action which he described as inappropriate and disgraceful for UMNO nationally

He said Mukhriz, son of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, was also inconsistent in his opinions.
mainly due to his connections to Tun Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as his son and successor

"He first expressed his support for the prime minister to continue leading the government.
"But suddenly he forwarded a letter asking the prime minister to step down."

Johari added that although Mukhriz had not contributed much to development in Kubang Pasu district and had not attended any divisional meetings last year, Mukhriz was picked as a candidate as a gesture of goodwill to his father.

Johari also said the Kubang Pasu Umno division supported Abdullah to continue leading the country.

In Kota Kinabalu, Sabah Umno Youth called on Mukhriz to withdraw his "rude" letter.

Its head, Datuk Japlin Akim, said he failed to understand why the Umno Youth executive council member was blaming Abdullah for Barisan Nasional's poor performance in the general election.

"Mukhriz's statement does not reflect well on his position as a senior leader in the Youth movement," Japlin said, adding that he was puzzled as to why Mukhriz had changed his stand just days after declaring his support for Abdullah.

well no faul for me as he just want's justice for his old dad,Tun Mahathir and because his replacement PakLah has done a bad job indeed now.Very very bad if you ask me.look at the mess he made.

People's Vote fo Truth on PRU12

well here's a quick snip about the history of malaysia's general election and why this one(PRU 12) is the worst yet!

National Front is the longest serving legitimate party administering Malaysia for more than fifty years starting with the Municipal Elections in 1955 in the town area of Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Johor Bharu where UMNO (United Malay National Organization-Malay based party) and MCA (Malayan Chinese Associations-Chinese based party) had agreed on certain terms cooperating with each other to grab seats in the Members Committee formed by the British government as an accord and test whether the Malays can unite with the other main races (Chinese and Hindus) thus paving the way for Malaya independence in 1957.

After the triumph of the 1955 Municipal Elections, then MIC (Malaysian Indian Congress-Indian based party) had agreed to band wagon the alliance of UMNO-MCA thus forming an Alliance party inadvertently close the doors for Dato’ Onn to be the first Malaya Chief Minister with his non-communal party of Independence Malayan Party (IMF). Along the way, the Alliance had achieved great successes in building Malaysia as a great economic powerhouse and filling its independence. The party itself had experienced a lot of ups and downs and internal contradictions such as in 1969, thus transforming it into National Front party and again endured an internal and external crisis such had happened in 1989 (UMNO was declared illegal), Sabah political crisis and the sacking of Anwar Ibrahim in 1999 (just to name a few).

But for all the momentous outlining that National Front had endured and experienced, nothing can be compared with the elections result of the year 2008. For all the bad records of Alliance party or National Front setbacks, 2008 election results is the worst ever results which had been experienced by the National Front and such factors that contributes towards this worst defeat came from an internal factor within UMNO itself and an external factors which were dealt wrongly by the incumbent government thus precipitating a protest vote by all the three main races (Malay, Chinese and Hindus) against the National Front.

Differences between 1969 and 2008 election

If the year 1969 had showed how much the wealth gap between the Malays and the Chinese race had spark the racial violence which was transposed through the race riot of 1969. Plus the divide and rule policy of the British government for more than 200 years which was later inflamed by the uneven treatment by the Japanese government during the three years and eight months of the World War II, this factors had contributed by the uprising of the existing grudges by the two main races of Malaysia. This problem was later dealt with the understanding that the government with the need to reform the racial wealth balances by not extricate the wealth of the Chinese and give it to the Malays, but by creating a larger economic cake and bringing back the sidetrack Malay race after 200 years of isolations by the British government through the implementations of the New Economic Policy. I don’t wish to delve deep the differences of the economic wealth pre-1969 elections as my topic is concentrating on the 2008 election results.

The Worst Election Ever for National Front

2008 is a whole different matter for National Front. None of the factors which contribute towards the defeat of that party in 1969 anymore contributes towards the defeat in 2008. In 2008, the opposition’s party only reaping the benefits of sheer ignorance of the incumbent government in settling issues arises which affecting the Malaysian peoples. Here I underline the reasons and factors which contribute to the worst defeat ever since 1957 in a chronology manner:-

Bad advisers – Prime Minister Abdullah had been getting bad advices from the beginning of his tenure as the fifth Prime Minister. Such advices had lead to numerous bad decisions by the executive power such as:-

The bad formations of the cabinet portfolios in 2004 (after the 11th elections) which sees redundant responsibilities of the government ministries that impedes the executive branch from executing efficient order or task and confused the government apparatus with their mechanism in catering the needs of the Malaysian citizens such cases can be seen in areas concerns:-

1) Ministry of Home Affairs vs Ministry of Internal Security;

2) Ministry of Regional (Kementerian Wilayah Persekutuan) vs Ministry of Rural Areas and Regional (Kementerian Luar Bandar dan Wilayah) vs Local Council vs Ministry of Housing and Local Government (Kementerian Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan);

3) Ministry of National Heritage and Culture vs Ministry of Tourism ;

The cancellations of the Malaysian bidding for Asia’s Games in 2006 which shows that Malaysia unwilling to challenge human ingenuity of making the games succeed on Malaysia’s soil despite having the first class facilities after the success of 1998 Commonwealth games;

The Foreign Office blunder of apologizing to the Chinese government on the video case of allegedly Chinese citizens squatting despite the true identity of the women after detail investigations which shows that it was a Malaysian lady. The failure of PR to explain the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for such accused individual to squat aim to force any foreign object in accused body or in that particular case drugs substance to voluntarily push out from her vagina;

The terminations of PROTON’s CEO (Tengku Tan Sri Mahaleel Tengku Ariff), despite his achievement in accumulating PROTON’s cash savings and with the building of the Tanjung Malim Proton’s City at the costing of 1.3 billion using PROTON’s own funds without borrowing any single cents form the government;

The cancellations of the double railway electric trains projects along the West coast lines (16 trains/ a day) at 160kmph which will see the integrations of rural area into big cities of Johor Bharu - Kuala Lumpur – Ipoh – Penang – Padang Besar and all the cities along the proposed lines;

The selling of the MV Agusta companies at the price of 1 Euro far outweigh its real market price despite buying the coveted high-tech Italian motorcycle company at the 400 million dollars on the intentions of small engine technology transfer to PROTON to built its own small engine consuming less fuel in parallel with the market demand;

The cancellations of the Scenic Bridge on the Johore Causeway after the projects had been undertaken on the views that such structure development had interfered on the sovereignty of Singapore and the cancellations reimbursement which cost higher than building the bridge itself to Gerbang Perdana that was in charge on the project development;

The desertion of Multimedia Super Corridor project and it’s lost of exclusiveness when areas concerns are unable to be determined lucidly and land that was neglect unproductively. The unproductive e-village projects and un-enthusiast investment on such areas even though such potentials is still high where Infosys that was set up in India at the same time amounting to more than 40 billion dollars;

The stagnations of Putrajaya development projects with the cancellations of its monorail intercity projects and slow pace of Putrajaya development itself.

Tun Dr. Mahathir’s character assassinations by the media – After the Prime Minister Abdullah took over the helm from his predecessor; the media’s had launched a character assassinations campaign non-stop by portraying a very bad image of the former Prime Minister. The public especially the Chinese community feel discontented because they revered the former Prime Minister as their saviour in the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis and the Malays community themselves who remembered Tun Dr. Mahathir as one of the great statesmen Malaysia had offered before feel dissatisfied and disgruntled seeing the unjust treatment of the media towards their national hero.

Tun Dr. Mahathir open critics towards his successor – This factor played a major part when Tun Dr. Mahathir failed to advise Prime Minister Abdullah in his decision making process on certain matters and launched an open critics on how Prime Minister Abdullah decision’s was decided. Seeing such an act by the former Prime Minister, Malaysian especially the Chinese community that was far economic aware feel such critics must at least be heard and understood in an intellectual manner. But again Prime Minister Abdullah failed to understand such critics and advice.

Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar factor - Perhaps one of the major factors which contribute to the worst defeat ever of the National Front party is the ambitious young man named Khairy Jamaluddin. Being cropped up from nowhere, most Malaysian believes this young man is the main factor behind every government decision making process. His relationship with Prime Minister Abdullah as the Abdullah’s son in law and even though denied by Prime Minister Abdullah that this man had influenced him on every government decision making process, but the public perceptions is high that he is the man behind all the bad government decisions.

In politics, where perceptions is much more important than reality, Khairy Jamaluddin perhaps is the most hated man in Malaysia of all time but with his powerful connections and daily image boost through the media put him on the post of UMNO Youth Deputy and he often talks on government policies where the cabinet ministers themselves shunned talking about it. The scandals behind Khairy Jamaluddin is numerous as underline below (just to name a few):-

i. Khairy Jamaluddin was first seen above the rules and regulations or the law by the public when he was officially involved in the politics despite holding professional governmental post in the Prime Minister department which according to the rules he had to let go his governmental post to get involved actively in politics;

ii. ECM-Libra Avenue scandal;

iii. Pantai Holdings sell out to Singapore owned GLC’s;

iv. The cancellations of Scenic Bridge projects;

v. The personal passing hand to hand of Former Deputy Prime Minister passport when Anwar Ibrahim was freed by the Malaysian court;

vi. Much publicised his MyTeam football team which was sponsored by Scomi;

vii. Peoples perceptions on his personal influences and involvement in any government decisions and contracts awards;

viii. Peoples perceptions on his personal involvement in the naming of the 2008 National Fronts UMNO elections candidates;

ix. The usage of UMNO owned media companies to boost Khairy’s own image through daily exposure of his personal activities and views regarding governmental policies and decisions despite no cabinet post portfolio vested when he is only holding the political post of UMNO Youth Deputy;

x. Khairy’s numerous blunder’s remarks against the oppositions leaders such as to PAS spiritual leader Nik Aziz Nik Mat challenging him to take back particular views regarding certain matters or law action will taken but at the end nothing happens;

xi. Khairy’s personal racist sentiments remarks against the Chinese community when there is no issues to be raised so that he will be seen as the saviour of the Malay based community;

xii. Khairy’s incorrect remarks on the New Economic Policy whereas such policies had already over in 1990 and was replaced by the New Development Policy and Vision 2020 policy. Such remarks on the New Economic Policy was seen by the public as to only boost his image as the championing of the Malay based community;

xiii. Khairy’s personal involvement in building Putera UMNO brigade consisting members from “Mat Rempits/ Illegal street racers” to be the action arms of UMNO Youth despite bad records from Malaysian Royal Police that such an act will only worsen the illegal racing in Malaysia;

xiv. Royal Malaysian Police staffs perceptions towards Khairy’s personal involvement in the formations of IPCMC (Independent Police Commissions of Conduct) which was seen by the Police as unnecessary check and balance apparatus;

xv. The conduct of Khairy in leading the UMNO members gathering during Condoleezza Rice visits to Malaysia on the issues of Palestinian treatment by the Israelis where such gathering was seen by the public as double standard measures by the local authorities and Malaysian Police in awarding permits and treatment on the rioting of UMNO members;

xvi. Khairy’s purposelessness and un-bearings personal vendetta against the former Prime Minister Mahathir which was seen by the public as a rash act and foolhardy on the comparative basis that this young man without any achievement went against an old and revered statesman.

Unclear answers on certain issues by the particular Cabinet Ministers of Prime Minister Abdullah on the issues of Approved Permits (AP’s);

Immature remarks by some Cabinet Ministers of many issues answered in a childish manner on public media such as by Minister Nazri Aziz, Minister Zainuddin Maidin and Deputy Minister Shaziman;

of many issues answered in a childish manner on public media such as by Minister Nazri Aziz, Minister Zainuddin Maidin and Deputy Minister Shaziman;

Unclear scandal and grudges arises between the Minister of Internal Security and the Malaysian Inspector General of Police on the issues of the release of convicts by the Minister himself whereas the bloggers who revealed such scandal haven’t been found yet and no progress report on the investigations case;

The performance of National Front Members of Parliament in explaining and debating issues in the lower house whereas National Front’s MPs were more prone to raise personal issues such as personal applications of AP’s, grudges towards the bloggers, and dull remarks on the issues of bloggers and women in Malaysia (proved one point of raised by Thomas Friedman in his book The World is Flat);

The waving of the “Keris” (Malay’s traditional weapons) during the UMNO General Assembly thus depicting an unnecessary act of rocking the racial boat of understanding between the Malays and the Chinese. It was seen by the critics that such act as a deviations by the UMNO Youth to be seen as the champion of the Malays race on the reality basis there are no real issues to be debated (the status quo remains unchallenged);

The increasing price of the world crude oil which exceeds 60 dollar per barrel thus affecting every products price within the Malaysian market. Such inflations problems or the increase of product prices was seen by the public are not dealt correctly where big companies are allowed to reap the profits while Malaysian consumers had to deal with the spiralling inflations plus the increase of the toll hike;

Basic necessities of the Malaysian daily products such as flour, cooking oil, sugar that was lost in the daily market seen by the Malaysian peoples as obsolete third world economic problems and the handling of such crisis are sure to be doom where the government took the approach of suppressing the market forces thus ensuring the losing the products necessities in the market;

Unwise handling of the HINDRAF issues by the security analyst which failed to advise Prime Minister Abdullah to act fast on the dire allegations made by the HINDRAF members which escalate the situations thus bent the support of the Hindus vote for the National Front completely during the 2008 elections;

Complete utilization of the media as a propaganda tools for National Front in putting Prime Minister Abdullah and boosting his personal image more than it should had inculcate a reverse psychology message to the Malaysian that they fed up with such cheap publicity.

People’s message

The peoples of Malaysia had cast a very clear message to Prime Minister Abdullah to act in a rightful manner. Whether Prime Minister Abdullah will do the right thing to rectify back on what National Front had gone wrong, only he and himself have the answer. The longer he delayed on the right decision, UMNO and National Front will pay the price of such ignorance.

Clearly one factors doesn’t chip in to the National Front worst defeat in 2008 elections. But with the build up of wrong decisions after another, and the appointment of wrong advisers who advice Prime Minister on what he wants to hear, National Front had to endure its worst embarrassment. For the performance and factors which contributes to the worst defeat of the National Front, I have underline clearly as above details. For that I rest my case.

now here's a essay for you to do some research on regarding this 2008 malaysian 12th general election

A Quick Thought For Us

I will like to write in malay because my mother tongue.

To Cut it short for you readers, Our country needs those veterans of UMNO elections of war.NOt nowadays cheating cunts like Khairy or Noraini.They just don't know the meaning of winning a election for years unlike some people like our Ku Li-Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah...and the now deceased Datuk Ibrahim Ali who defected to PAS so let us unite and take down the UMNO CURRENT LEADERSHIP for a new one free of corruption

In 1999, I fight for Tun Mahathir through my AnwarGate website because I was at that time worried that the event unfolding was part of the Freemasons plan under their global strategy to create "The World of Antichrist" or better known as "New World Order".

At the age 0f 24 then and having read too much about the Freemasons and the Illuminati, I was glad to see that the Reformasi Movement finally defeated and we had survived unlike some of our Asian neighbors especially Indonesia. Despite the wave of protests against Tun Mahathir, BN still secure more than 2/3 of the Parliamentary seats and no one had died in any riot.

When Pak Lah takes over the number one post, I have bad feeling in my gut that the Freemasons might come back with another plan. But as I look around the people next to him my suspicion gradually diminished because I told myself there was no one around Pak Lah's cabinet who had similar "signs" of being a recruit of the Freemasons.

All political figures in the cabinet have a profile which makes them highly unlikely to be the representative of the 'the eye of Horus' (the Illuminati Symbol which I found no surprise to see the exact resemblance to the Keadilan logo).

So I closed down AnwarGate and get myself a rest. No worry there.. I mean if they want to create another ‘Anwar’ then it'll probably take a lifetime for another ‘fake politician’ to position himself as the 2nd man of UMNO like what Anwar had done..

Then came Khairy Jamaluddin.. Spending most of his life in outside Malaysia and only been here for a couple of years.

I have to tell you though, I have to give credit where credit is due. Where Anwar has failed in a slim margin, Khairy has succeed in flying colors. Who would think that simply by marrying a PM's daughter will provide a speedier and simpler way to put his self 2nd to the highest office in this nation?

It took almost like a lifetime for Anwar to place himself as major player in the government, but it only took only a few years for Khairy to virtually put himself as the ‘ruler by proxy’ in Putrajaya.

If any Freemasons out there reading this, then I do say my hat off to you guys. You guys have done your homework studying the strongest and weakest point of our Prime Minister and your million dollars investment in studying Human Science is finally paying off in Malaysia. But whereas I do admire the way you have extensively study our Malay’s mind for the purpose of bringing us to our knees, please bear in mind that the fat lady hasn’t sung yet because with Allah as our guide, you haven’t seen the best of us united especially when stood together against those who try to take over our rights.

To all my fellow UMNO,

Knowledge is power and as we prepare ourselves to do what we are about to do for the survival of UMNO and BARISAN NASIONAL, we must also equip ourselves with a better understanding of the real enemies who as we speak, are monitoring our every moves and predicting how our mind works for the sake of increasing their victory over us.

All must be told about the external-forces who travel all over the world and spending billions of dollars to recruit and fund those amongst our race to serve their ambition for the “Novus Ordo Seclorum” (translated as: "A new order of the ages"). In the New World Order, Malaysia shall no longer be ruled by Muslims. Absolute secularism and the teachings to worship worldly possession shall be disguised as equality in meritocracy.

The separation of Faith in governance shall be implemented to inflict the same damage upon our Religious Institution similar to what they had done the Churches in the West. When the time has come for them to fulfill their prophecy, deaths and suffering on all human beings shall be inflicted and then followed by a fake promise of peace to those willing to abandon God and kneeling before the one leader of the world (dajal a.k.a antichrist a.k.a “the all seeing eye”).

The Freemason’s symbol of “the all seeing eye” represents the description of the antichrist they are waiting to take the throne and rule all human beings. The ‘eye’ is singular in nature which fits the description of our own Quranic version of “Dajal Bermata Satu”.

Have you heard the popular phrase of “selling your soul to the devil”? Well actually you can’t sell your soul or go to hell on contractual basis because only God shall judge us of our next place in the afterlife. But the phrase itself is a symbolic reference to those who would make a ‘contract’ with the Freemasons to serve them in return of fame, wealth and power.

If you breached your contract with them then you can expect to be dead in a couple of months, and not only will you be dead, the public humiliation that follows will also put your family in shame for generation to come. So you see, the Freemasons really know how to strike fear into one’s heart.

It’s kind of difficult to point finger of which person are now serving the Freemason. However, servants of the Freemason are said compelled to leave blueprints to their plans "hidden in plain view’. From messages delivered to the masses through the media and films, we are repeatedly reminded by the illuminati themselves that they are controlling us and are omnipresent. There were various symbols to choose from – the Goat Head, the Horned Star, Cross upside down, the Hexagram, the Obelisk etc.

But the most powerful symbol of all is the “all seeing eye” which represents the physical manifestation of an Antichrist. Some also said that the eye also represents Lucifer seeing all and is usually atop a pyramid, the symbol for a top-down command and control system of compartmentalization ((mal ochio = this object is regarded by all Satanists as the symbol of Lucifer.”- William J. Schnoebelen).

It kind of eerie to see lots of Muslims proudly displaying and wearing a symbol so similar to the “eye” nowadays. Whether it’s just a coincidence or not, of all other ideas Anwar can come up with while designing the logo, it makes no sense to me that he choose one which has no relation to our religion and historical background. Even PAS and MCA symbol I can easily relate to compared to Keadilan.

To all my fellow friends in UMNO / BARISAN,

Should we decided to support the notion that Pak Lah should step down from cabinet to save what is left of UMNO today, we must make sure that whatever we do must not aggravate the division in UMNO should Pak Lah refuse to step down. We have to make clear the boundaries of which our conduct and manners shall be dictated.

Since we had already agreed that the roots of the problem is Pak Lah and his son in law Khairy. Then we should avoid hurting too many people which shall caused further division amongst us.

Our top priority at the time being is to politely request Pak Lah to step down voluntarily and not the whole administration. If we bash too many people at the same time then we will risk a “civil war” between all UMNO members and possibly causing division amongst all BN party components.

If we failed to observe our manners, this movement which is now intended to save UMNO will instead act as a catalyst in destroying UMNO. And if we don’t watch our mouth, then we might accidentally touches others sensitivities which can lead to racial tensions.

So please practice proper ethics when discussing or promoting our ideas to others. The idea behind this movement is noble. Should we be able to use our brain rather than our brawn, God willing then that no Freemasons can manipulate us to serve their own agenda.

Well a truly inspiring letter of thought don't you think from a malay UMNO man

Saturday, March 15, 2008

Umno Youth has distanced itself clearly from Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir’s call for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to resign.

Its chief Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said in a statement sent via SMS that Mukhriz’s call was made on his own accord, and did not represent the stand of Umno Youth.

“If it is true that Mukhriz has asked for the Prime Minister’s resignation, then it is not the stand of Umno Youth, as our decisions have always been made collectively.

“As I have stated before, Umno Youth’s loyalty belongs to the leadership of the Prime Minister and his deputy.

“If the statement has been made of his (Mukhriz) own accord, it is my personal stand that his call was made at a time and in a method that is not appropriate,” he said in his text message.

Yesterday Mukhriz, who is Umno Youth executive council member, wrote a letter to Abdullah pressuring him to step down after the ruling coalition’s dismal showing in the 12th general election, describing the move as the honourable thing to do.

Hishammuddin's SMS, however, did not mention if any action would be taken against Mukhriz.

Mukhriz had also caused headlines in July last year when rumours spread of his intention to contest for the movement’s top post.

He had then pledged to give his full attention to helping Hishammuddin and Umno Youth.

When contacted in ALOR STAR, Mukhriz expressed surprise that the personal letter dated March 12 had ended up on the Internet.

“It was a personal, heartfelt letter addressed to the Prime Minister,” he said, adding that carbon copies of the letter were sent to top Umno leaders, namely deputy president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, vice-president Datuk Wira Ali Rustam, vice-president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and secretary-general Datuk Seri Radzi Sheikh Ahmad.

Mukhriz said the Barisan’s colossal defeat in its strongholds showed that even party members had betrayed the coalition.

“If Datuk Seri (Abdullah) does not step down in the near future, I am really worried that the trust of the rakyat, especially the Malays, in Umno and BN would diminish,” he added in the letter.

Mukhriz acknowledged that the letter would anger Abdullah and other Umno members.

“However, in the interest of the Malays and Umno, I am willing to accept reactions to this appeal,” he said.

Mukhriz ended the letter saying he was confident Abdullah would do the right thing for the sake of both race and nation.

well i agree Paklah should resign don't you?

well care for a sleep again paklah???
The ‘sleeping administration’ of Prime Minister Badawi has been served its wake-up call. And this time it is the Malaysian public that is going to be making the demands on the state, and not vice-versa

On March 8, 2008, Malaysians went to the polls and voted in the country’s 12th general elections. The results, as they were announced over the very same evening and well into the next morning, sent shock waves across the country.

After being in power for more than half a century, the ruling National Front Coalition not only lost the vital two-thirds majority of seats in Parliament, but came close to losing its majority altogether. In the bargain, five state governments were lost, and the opposition coalition made up of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic party (PAS), the Democratic Action Party (DAP) and the People’s Justice Party (PKR) won more than 80 Parliamentary seats and control of five state assemblies.

The most remarkable thing about the election results on the day itself was the fact that they were hardly ever mentioned in the mainstream state-controlled media. As the results came pouring in, it was clear that there was about to be a massive swing to the opposition and that the administration of Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi was in for a pounding.

Yet official commentators on TV and radio could only mumble inanities such as “we never knew the public were so disaffected”. How? Why?

This election was a clear and simple sign that the Malaysian public has grown thoroughly fed up and disillusioned by the empty promises of the Badawi government, that had won such an overwhelming mandate in 2004. Badawi came to power on a wave of electoral promises, ranging from institutional reform, the opening and freeing of the public domain, the settlement of outstanding cases of high-level corruption and abuse of power, greater transparency and accountability.

Yet after five dismal years, hardly any of these promises have been fulfilled and instead the Malaysian public were fed with broken promises, stunts and gimmicks that were better suited to a vaudeville opera instead.

While thousands of Malaysians continued to live below the poverty line and as prices and crime rates soared, the Badawi government sent a Malaysian astronaut as a space tourist on board a Russian spacecraft, just to break its own book of records.

While the poor Malay-Muslims of northern states such as Kelantan and Trengganu looked for sound economic development and equal distribution of wealth, Badawi’s government treated them to an Islamic civilisation theme park that cost 250 million ringgit (RM), complete with merry-go-round instead.

The real merry-go-round, however, was the Badawi establishment’s total failure to address key institutional, structural and socio-cultural issues that had irked and alienated so many Malaysians over the past four years: the non-Malay minorities have been demanding greater state protection of their collective identities after the spate of Hindu temple demolitions, denial of permits for building churches, seizure of Bibles, etc.

Yet in all these cases, when and where Badawi could have personally intervened, he did nothing and stood silent and indifferent, falling back on his worn-out mantra of being the ‘Prime Minister of all Malaysians’.

But surely the Prime Minister of all Malaysians would stand up for the rights of minorities, defend the plight of the poor and marginalised, listen to the demands and protests of the disaffected, and actually take corrective measures to do his job properly. Throughout 2006-2007 all the signs of a latent protest movement were there, with lawyers demonstrating for judicial reform, ordinary citizens calling for free and fair elections, and religious minorities begging to have their concerns addressed.

The Badawi administration’s reaction to these demands was to demonise protestors, set the police on civil society gatherings, refuse permits for public seminars, ban books deemed dangerous, and stifle freedom of press instead.

Thus it came to pass that an inward-looking administration cut off and isolated from its own public was finally served its notice last weekend. Throughout the campaign the opposition parties of PKR, DAP and PAS repeatedly used the now-iconic image of Prime Minister Badawi dozing off asleep during one of his UMNO party’s meetings, as an emblem of an administration that is cut off, unable to listen and unwilling to respond.

By the second week of the campaign it was clear that the momentum had developed and that the vote swing this time round would be as great as in 2004, though in the opposite direction.

The morning after, a shocked and dazed Badawi stood before the cameras and admitted that his administration had failed to take into account the demands of the public. But with a weakened government and a UMNO party that is unwilling and unable to correct itself, how can there possibly be any change to the Malaysian governmental system, save by voting UMNO and the National Front out of power at the next elections?

This much, however, is certain: The ‘sleeping administration’ of Prime Minister Badawi has been served its wake-up call. And this time it is the Malaysian public that is going to be making the demands on the state, and not vice-versa.
Well please on behalf of malays here please resign and don't be sleepy again!!

Malaysian Voters lastly are no longer afraid to support the opposition of Barisan Alternative of Malaysia

THERE was no grandstanding on tanks; no sea of banner-waving protesters in monochrome T-shirts; not even a change in the federal government. Yet Malaysia underwent a quiet revolution on March 8th. The political scene transformed itself overnight. That the change happened at the ballot box and not in the street makes it all the more cheering.

For 50 years since independence, Malaysia has been ruled by a coalition dominated by the United Malays National Organisation, or UMNO. Malaysia has prospered wonderfully, and the arrangement seemed immutable. Not any more. The governing coalition, the National Front, won the election for the federal parliament and eight of the 13 state assemblies easily enough (see article). But in a huge swing it lost the two-thirds majority in Parliament that it has enjoyed for 40 years, and which enabled it to change the constitution at will. In peninsular Malaysia (ie, excluding Malaysian Borneo), it actually—if narrowly—lost the popular vote. In five states, including the most populous, the opposition will form the government.

This is extremely good news for many reasons. The most basic is that democracies need a vibrant and credible opposition. Any party that stays in power for half a century is liable to show signs of complacency, arrogance and corruption, and UMNO is no exception. Abdullah Badawi won by a landslide in 2004, partly because of a promise to clean things up. Voters have turned against him not least because he is seen as having failed, or—worse—as not having even tried hard.

Second, the election result is a victory for hope over fear. At times the government has used harsh laws against opponents. Anwar Ibrahim, the leader of what is now the largest opposition party, and Lim Guan Eng, the new chief minister of the state of Penang, have done time in jail. More generally, the National Front has played on the fears evoked by the ghosts of 1969, when opposition advances at the polls were followed by bloody race riots. A vote for the opposition, went the none-too-subtle message, would risk bloodshed as the Malay majority took its revenge on the minorities. Yet it was not only many ethnic-Chinese voters (about a quarter of the population) and, especially, disgruntled ethnic Indians (about 8%) who deserted the National Front. Many Malays switched too.

That is a third reason for optimism: communal tension may not be the tinderbox that Malaysia has for so long assumed it to be. If so, the result may herald new thinking about the institutionalised racism of the pro-Malay affirmative-action policies introduced after 1969. The opposition parties campaigned on a platform of “colour-blind” affirmative action—help for those who need it, not for a particular ethnic group. In the past, that would have been deemed electoral suicide. Surely Malays would not vote against their own economic self-interest? In the event many seem to have recognised that the policy has become less a means for redistributing wealth to the disadvantaged than a vehicle for corruption and cronyism.
And now revolve even more, please

Of course, the opposition still has a long way to go. It is a loose coalition of ill-matched parties: a left-of-centre, mainly ethnic-Chinese one; an Islamist party that in the one state it has ruled since 1990 has banned unisex barbers and introduced single-sex tills in supermarkets; and Mr Anwar's multi-ethnic liberal reformers. They may make a mess of governing the states they have won, or prove as venal as those they have replaced. They have co-operated well in opposition: the Islamist party has moderated its demands, so as not to scare off the Chinese and Indian supporters of the other parties, and they made good tactical choices about who should contest which seat. But by the time of the next election, they will need to win votes as a potential government, rather than as a symbol of protest.

Or perhaps by then UMNO and the National Front will have reformed themselves. The first signs were good. Mr Badawi accepted the setback with grace. Opposition leaders avoided gloating and told their supporters not to celebrate in the streets lest they provide an excuse for troublemakers. Such maturity and restraint may not last. But in a region where competitive politics are so often feared because they are associated with instability, they offer a beacon of hope.

Keputusan Pilihan raya umum 2008 menyaksikan Barisan Nasional menerima kekalahan teruk.

a. Kenaikan harga petrol yang terlalu tinggi
b. Kenaikan tol yang sangat drastik,
c. Kenaikan kadar faedah asas (BLR),
d. kenaikan kos sara hidup - elektrik, cukai pintu dan air.
e. Kenaikan harga barang

2. Dasar Luar yang mengelirukan dan pro-Singapura seperti:

a. Mengakui Tambak Johor sebagai hak bersama Malaysia-Singapura tanpa kira sempadan, tanpa mendapat keputusan Mahkamah Antarabangsa.
b. Membatalkan pembinaan jambatan bengkok kerana ugutan Singapura
c. Masih gagal menyelesaikan isu harga air mentah ke Singapura
d. Gagal memimpin OIC

3. Promosi Islam Hadhari yang keterlaluan: a. Membimbangkan masyarakat bukan Islam.

4. Pentadbiran negara yang tunggang langgang:

a. Tindakan menghantar Menteri ke negara China bagi memohon maaf atas isu ketuk ketampi bogel dalam lokap tanpa menyiasat terlebih dahulu identiti wanita terbabit.

b. membenarkan "media bashing" terhadap pasukan polis, cuba mewujudkan badan pemantau polis (IPCMC) tetapi menarik balik. Moral pasukan polis amat lemah sehingga menyebabkan Polis sudah kurang berkesan dan kadar jenayah kian bertambah tanpa penyelesaian.

c. Keputusan berubah-ubah dalam kes Jambatan Bengkok, Landasan Keretapi Berkembar, Jambatan Pulau Pinang Kedua menyebabkan negara kerugian berbilion ringgit

d. Kenyataan-kenyataan biadap dan tidak bertanggungjawab Abdullah seperti “I dont Know, i’m not involved” dalam kes ECM Libra dan memanggil pengkritik beliau sebagai Iblis.

e. Banyak menubuhkan suruhanjaya tanpa mengambil langkah sewajarnya menyebabkan suruhanjaya sendiri sudah menjadi lawak jenaka.

7. Memecah-belahkan UMNO

g. Kempen keterlaluan untuk mengalahkan Tun Dr. Mahathir dalam pemilihan perwakilan UMNO Kubang Pasu 2006 menyebabkan ramai ahli UMNO “berjauh hati.”

1. Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi meletak jawatan secara sukarela sebagai Perdana Menteri dan Presiden UMNO.

ATAU

2. Sekiranya, Datuk Seri Abdullah dan Ahli Majlis Tertinggi UMNO berpendapat Presiden parti masih mendapat sokongan ahli UMNO, maka sewajarnya, satu Perhimpunan Agung Khas UMNO dipanggil dan satu undi sulit mengenai kedudukan Presiden UMNO diadakan.

Sekian, terima kasih.

Banyak lagi jika mahu ditulis kelemahan pentadbiran Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

1. Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi meletak jawatan secara sukarela sebagai Perdana Menteri dan Presiden UMNO.

2. Sekiranya, Datuk Seri Abdullah dan Ahli Majlis Tertinggi UMNO berpendapat Presiden parti masih mendapat sokongan ahli, maka sewajarnya, satu Perhimpunan Agung Khas UMNO dipanggil dan satu undi sulit mengenai kedudukan Presiden UMNO diadakan.

Well this is Shit.Malaysia will be destroyed like this!!Help us all in malaysia!
Well malaysia is bizarre and peaceful little country

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — Some Malaysian ruling party members are mounting an Internet campaign demanding the prime minister's resignation after massive losses in national elections over the weekend.

The initiative is an indication of brewing dissent against Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who has repeatedly insisted he will not step down and that he commands the loyalty of most members of his dominant United Malays National Organization.

A popular Web site called Maya Kmu Dot Net sought support this week for a petition urging Abdullah to "resign voluntarily as prime minister and UMNO president." Although anonymously run, it is known to be widely read by UMNO members because it features criticism about the party that cannot be aired in regular party forums.

The site says it has conducted a poll in which some 90 percent of more than 2,500 respondents so far say Abdullah should quit.

Mohamad Noh Zainudin, an UMNO grass-roots official who pledged support for the petition, said Thursday that Abdullah must shoulder the blame for "the government's poor image, which caused the bad results" in Saturday's general elections.

"At the grassroots level, there is a feeling that the prime minister should step down," Mohamad Noh, an UMNO branch official in northern Perak state, told The Associated Press. "The senior leaders cannot express this because there is a culture of not speaking out."

Top party leaders have backed Abdullah, saying no one is solely responsible for election results that saw the long-ruling government lose its two-thirds parliamentary majority for the first time since 1969 despite winning enough seats to remain in power.

UMNO, whose members are from the ethnic Malay Muslim majority, forms the backbone of the governing National Front coalition. The election results were the worst ever for the 14-party coalition, which only retained control of eight of Malaysia's 13 states.

Abdullah took his oath of office Monday to remain prime minister for another five-year term. Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak said this week that UMNO leaders would reject any calls for Abdullah to resign, adding there should not be "any speculation or effort to change leadership."

KUALA LUMPUR: The detention of the five Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) leaders under the Internal Security Act on Thursday was imperative.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan said investigations into the movement's activities since July had deemed the five to be a threat to national security.

"They clearly have links with international terrorist organisations and they are involved in activities that amount to inciting racial hatred."

He said the evidence against them and the proposal to detain them under the ISA were forwarded to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who is also internal security minister.

Musa was commenting on the arrest of lawyers P. Uthayakumar, R. Kengadharan, V. Ganabatirau, M. Manoharan and a senior executive with Malaysia Building Society Bhd, K. Vasantha Kumar.
The four lawyers were legal advisers for Hindraf while Vasantha Kumar was the movement's co-ordinator. All were sent to the Kamunting detention centre in Taiping, Perak, for two years under Section 8(1) of the Internal Security Act 1960.

The five were key officials of Hindraf, which organised a rally here on Nov 25 where some 10,000 Indians protested against alleged racial discrimination.

Musa also said the five were also trying to sow hatred towards the government, adding that their actions could spark racial clashes.

He said inflammatory sentiments were being widely spread through their forums, distribution of books and leaflets, on websites as well as through the short messaging service.

"The fanning of racial sentiments among Indians is very unhealthy and dangerous."

When asked whether the ISA would be used on Uthayakumar's brother, P. Waytha Moorthy, who is currently overseas garnering support for Hindraf, Musa did not rule out that possibility.

"We cannot arrest him now as he is overseas."

Waytha Moorthy was also charged with sedition last month, but was released on bail.

He is believed to have then gone to India to garner support there. Currently he is said to be in the United Kingdom.

Musa also did not rule out the possibility that more Hindraf leaders and supporters would be arrested under the ISA.

He urged Hindraf leaders and supporters not to continue going against the government and the law.

"We would not hesitate to take similar action against them."

He also pointed out that Hindraf was not a legal organisation.

Chronology of events

- 2007: Police investigations show that Hindraf was involved in numerous violent demonstrations, including employing the services of secret societies against local authorities legally demolishing temples.

- July 2007: Hindraf leaders give speeches and distribute a seditious publication, 50 Years of Violation of the Federal Constitution by the Malaysian Government at the Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall.

- Aug 12: Hindraf leaders and followers gather illegally outside the prime minister’s office, demanding that the prime minister personally collect a memorandum from them. Hindraf leaders speak and widely distribute pamphlets containing their memorandum which called for the end to Malay special rights and included other similar demands intended to cause racial tension.

- Aug 30: Hindraf files class action suit against the British government for bringing Indians to Malaysia as indentured labourers and exploiting them for 150 years and thereafter failing to protect the Indian community’s rights under the Federal Constitution when independence was granted. The sum sought was US$4 trillion (RM14 trillion) — or US$1 million for every Malaysian Indian.

- October - December: SMSes alleging government conspiracies to demolish temples and completely marginalise the Indian community are circulated. In relation to the planned Hindraf rally, SMSes are sent stating that each Indian attending the rally would receive RM100,000.

- Nov 15: In a letter to the British prime minister, Hindraf alleges that the Malaysian government practises ethnic cleansing and the Islamic extremist backed government demolished Hindu temples.

- Nov 16: Hindraf applies at Cheras police station for a permit to hold a gathering to submit a petition to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to fund (estimated by Hindraf to be RM5 million) their lawsuit against the British government.

- Nov 16: Hindraf’s application for permit rejected by police as the planned gathering could potentially lead to trouble and public disorder as well as the fact that the application was made by an individual. Under Section 27 of the Police Act 1967, any application for a permit to assemble in a public place must be made by an organisation or jointly by three individuals.

- Nov 16: Hindraf leaders alleged to have given seditious speeches in Tamil at a restaurant in Kuala Selangor.

- Nov 22: Court issues an order to Hindraf leaders prohibiting them from participating in the planned Nov 25 illegal gathering. This order means, that if the gathering goes on, the respondents will not only be held liable for illegal assembly, but can also be cited for contempt of court.

- Nov 23: Three Hindraf leaders are arrested and charged with sedition. Two are released on bail while the third refuses bail and threatens to go on a hunger strike.

- Nov 23: Scuffle breaks out between Hindraf supporters and FRU. A 2,000-strong Hindraf procession gathers behind Klang district police headquarters where released Hindraf leaders give speeches.

- Nov 25: Hindraf supporters damage vehicles and temple in Batu Caves, KL, as well as cause grievous bodily hurt to policemen present.

- Nov 25: In defiance of a court order and police warnings, Hindraf leaders vow to proceed with the illegal gathering and urge all Indians to attend. Police were ready to negotiate with Hindraf leaders to allow them to hand over the memorandum but they were missing from the rally and only attended at 1.15pm, more than 5 hours after the crowds had gathered.

- Nov 26: Hindraf leaders are granted a discharge not amounting to an acquittal at the Klang Sessions Court.

- Nov 28: British High Commissioner denies receiving Hindraf memorandum. Hindraf claims it was faxed.

- December: Hindraf leaders systematically engage in a planned campaign spreading falsehoods to foreign governments and politicians. They claim that the Malaysian government carries out ethnic cleansing and widespread indiscriminate destruction of Hindu temples.

- Dec 01: A Hindraf leader, in an interview with the Indian Express (India), warned that Malaysia could become another Sri Lanka.

- Dec 04: A Hindraf leader, in an interview with the New Paper (Singapore), said that Hindraf could not rule out violence.

- Dec 06: IGP reveals that Hindraf has links with terrorists and local gangster groups.

- Dec 07: Attorney-General informs the court of documents alleging links between Hindraf and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).

- Dec 11: Hindraf leaders are arrested and charged with sedition. A crowd gathers near Pudu Jail and begins shouting for the leader’s release. The police and the Federal Reserve Unit take up positions as the crowd begins to swell.

- Dec 12: Police raid the offices of two Hindraf leaders at Menara Mutiara Bangsar in KL and in Seremban and seize computers and documents.

- Dec 13: Five Hindraf leaders are picked up from Petaling Jaya, Brickfields, Bangsar and Seremban under the Internal Security Act and send to the Kamunting Detention Centre where they will be held for two years. Hindraf supporters gather in two groups — one outside the Federal police headquarters in Bukit Aman and the other outside Menara Mutiara Bangsar. They condemn the arrests and vow to carry on with their struggle.

REVEALATION!!!!

KUALA LUMPUR: There are signs lately that the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) is trying to garner support from terrorist groups, the police charged yesterday.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan said Hindraf has also set up a fund by misleading the public into believing that the money is to finance its activities.

“We view such matters very seriously. It is also very worrying especially when we live in a multi-racial society.

Ominous words: The front page of Monday’s edition of Singapore’s The New Paper which interviewed P. Uthayakumar and quoted him as saying that Hindraf will not rule out violence.
“The police will not hesitate to take stern action against anyone to ensure that peace and security prevails in this country,” he said.

Musa also said the group was trying to sow hatred towards the Government and that its actions could spark racial clashes.

He said such dangerous sentiments were being widely spread via Hindraf forums, distribution of books and leaflets, on websites as well as through the short messaging service.

“It is also trying to rope in gangsters to prevent local authorities from demolishing illegal temples in the near future.

“The fanning of such racial sentiments among the Indians is very unhealthy and dangerous,” Musa said, adding that the police would not hesitate to invoke the Internal Security Act (ISA) against those who abused technology to stoke racial hatred or unrest.

The IGP said those found guilty of spreading such messages through SMS or e-mail could be jailed up to three years, fined RM10,000, or both, under Section 28 of the ISA.

One of Hindraf’s leaders, P. Uthayakumar, was reported as saying in an interview in Monday's edition of Singapore’s New Paper that that he would not rule out using violence.

He was quoted as saying that the protest by monks in Myanmar last September inspired Hindraf’s public protest.

“The monks were prepared to die for their cause. I’ve shown slides of monks getting shot and killed during my roadshows and I think it struck a chord with the people.

“I think it’s quite unlikely we’ll head down that path towards a civil war but there’s always that possibility. Some of the uneducated may resort to violence,” Uthayakumar was quoted as saying by the paper.

He also allegedly made similar statements in an interview with Indian national television in a programme called Times Now, where he warned of serious consequences.

Bersih 10 set to be charged

KUALA LUMPUR: Ten people who took part in the Nov 10 Bersih gathering in the capital have been told to appear in the magistrate’s court today as they are going to be charged.

Bersih steering committee member R. Sivarasa, who is also a lawyer, said the exact details of the charge were not known but it has to do with the Nov 10 gathering.

He said they could be charged under the Police Act or for illegal assembly.

“Malaysia should respect the right of freedom of peaceful assembly.

“This (the charge) poses a threat to that right and will not go down well internationally or nationally,” he added.

Sivarasa, who is also a Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president, stressed that charging the 10 would have no impact on Bersih’s campaign.

“We will continue our activities until free and fair elections are held,” he said.

Lawyer Latheefa Koya, who is also from PKR, said the investigating officer had called up the 10 individuals on Sunday and told them they were going to be charged.

She said most of the 10 were PAS members and from the “unit amal” group, and responsible for managing the crowd during the gathering.

Latheefa said 14 individuals who were arrested during the gathering on Nov 10 had been released on police bail.

“So we are not sure if all 14 will be charged or it’s only 10. We only know that that 10 have been called up,” she said.

Bersih is a coalition of non-governmental organisations and opposition parties who are pushing for free and fair elections.

The police did not grant Bersih a permit for the Nov 10 gathering in the city on grounds that it would cause chaos and disruption.

Despite this, the illegal gathering was attended by tens of thousands.

Police broke up the crowd at Masjid Jamek with tear gas and water cannons but allowed the demonstrators to march to Istana Negara where they handed a memorandum to a representative from the palace.

The memorandum, addressed to the King, asked for his intervention for free and fair elections to be held in the country.

On Wednesday, the Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan said he had offered Bersih alternative venues such as the stadium to hold its gathering peacefully but this was rejected.

well being caught by police is harsh..being in prison is more brutal but...

MOSCOW (Reuters) - President Vladimir Putin's party scored a landslide win in Russia's election, results showed on Monday, but the opposition vowed to challenge an outcome that could help Putin keep a grip on power after he leaves office.

In the first foreign reaction, the White House urged Russia to investigate opposition claims of widespread ballot-rigging in the vote which, according to incomplete official results, gave Putin's United Russia party more than 60 percent of the vote.

The Kremlin hailed the result as a signal from Russian voters that they want Putin -- required by the constitution to step down when his second term ends next year -- to retain influence even after he leaves office.

"Russian voters spoke in favour of United Russia, thus supporting President Putin's course, and spoke in favour of it being continued after the current president's second term ends," Dmitry Peskov, a Kremlin spokesman, told Reuters.

But the Communists, likely to be the only opposition force in parliament, said they would challenge the result in the Supreme Court. They said they would meet later on Monday to decide whether to boycott the new parliament.

Liberal Kremlin critic Boris Nemtsov of the SPS party called Sunday's vote "the most dishonest election in the history of modern Russia."

With 79.4 percent of votes counted, United Russia had 63.3 percent of the vote and the Communists 11.7 percent. Only two other parties -- Fair Russia and LDPR which both back the Kremlin -- cleared the 7-percent hurdle to qualify for seats.

The 55-year-old Putin, a former KGB spy who is hugely popular and credited by voters with restoring Russia's national pride, has been tipped for a role as prime minister or possibly speaker of parliament after his presidency.

Some observers say he could seek a third term as president, though he has said repeatedly he would not change the constitution to pave the way for this.

Allegations of ballot fraud are unlikely to strike a chord with the majority of Russians who, opinion polls show, respect Putin and want him to stay on as a "national leader." The opposition parties most critical of Putin have marginal support.

"I voted for United Russia because I believe that Putin can help us, simple working folk," said Sergei Ilin, 34, an unemployed man in the Siberian village of Belovsky.

WEDGE

But the allegations could drive a new wedge between an increasingly assertive Moscow and the West which Putin accused last week of "poking their snotty noses" in Russia's affairs.

White House National Security Council spokesman Gordon Johndroe noted the allegations of violations and said: "We urge Russian authorities to investigate these claims."

Europe's main ODIHR election watchdog -- seen in the West as a key yardstick of the fairness of an election -- pulled out of the vote citing obstruction by the Russian authorities.

The head of Russia's Central Election Commission, Vladimir Churov, a former colleague of Putin who was appointed election chief this year, dismissed allegations of fraud. "I think there were no serious violations on polling day," Churov said.

Chris Weafer, chief strategist at Uralsib investment bank in Moscow, said the results were "not spectacular but good enough to allow President Putin to call the shots after (the presidential election in) March."

"He now has the initiative in terms of what role he wants to stay on in", said Weafer.

In Chechnya, scene of a separatist insurgency and now under the autocratic rule of pro-Putin leader Ramzan Kadyrov, United Russia won 99.4 percent of the vote -- a new record for Russian parliamentary votes, election officials said.

Russians credit Putin with overseeing an oil-fuelled economic boom and like his no-nonsense approach, even while many in the West see it as squashing democratic freedoms.

But independent election monitors and opposition parties said officials mounted a nationwide campaign of bribery, intimidation and ballot-stuffing to make sure the vote handed Putin a resounding mandate.

The allegations included voters being offered the chance to win televisions and refrigerators if they backed Putin, and a report people were being bussed around the city of St Petersburg and voting in one polling station after another.

"These are not isolated incidents. The complaints are from every corner of Russia," said Grigory Melkonyans of Golos, Russia's biggest independent election observer.

The result means Andrei Lugovoy, Britain's chief suspect in the radiation poisoning murder of Kremlin critic Alexander Litvinenko, is set to become a member of parliament. He was No. 2 on the LDPR's slate of candidates. Lugovoy denies any guilt.

Litvinenko's widow Marina said in a statement her reaction to the election was "something between disgust and sadness."

well a new era has become...each nation is being reformed.well i want to ask when is malaysia's turn?this general election i think!!
